complete noobie 100% when i try to open code plug 22, it goes to windows media center and i see nothing about my code plug. windows 7

You will probably need to open the CPS software first, then use the software's "File - Open" command to open the file. I suspect that the file extension for the codeplug is set to use your media program, so double clicking it will attempt to open it in the wrong software.
