We have identified an issue that is most likely tied to a bug in the CS700 firmware - Many CS700 users in the CT area are experiencing a situation where you will get a bonk if you try to transmit after you hear the Channel Free Indicator (sounds like a courtesy tone) but before the repeater has actually dropped. That makes it very difficult to break into a conversation or join a net.
You can break in before the other user drops PTT, and of course you can break in after the repeater drops its carrier, but in that 2 or 3 seconds between the Channel Free Indicator and the repeater dropping its carrier you are locked out.
We have done extensive testing on this issue, for now, the only solution is to make sure you leave a break in-between users so others can come into a conversation. Once this issue is resolved or we find another work-around, we will let you know.
